Meditation and breathing

To breath is to live. You can be 3 weeks without food, 3 days without water, but only 3 minutes without breathing.

The ritm of breathing is like a circle movement- not like a movement up-and downwards- consists of three phases:

Phase 1: breathing in (to let it come/ yin aspect)
Phase 2: breathing out (to let it go/ yang aspect)
Phase 3: pause (to allow)

The natural free breathing is difficult for many people, because they can not wait untill the breath comes naturally. The have a little way to help to 'get' their meditation in stead of waiting to let it 'come'. In this way meditation is a action. To get something, you have to do something. This is one of the causes of stress related complaints.
